A happy week here to kick off October. Fun days in the autumn sun digging out the sweet potatoes and hauling loads out of the pumpkin and squash patch. We are beating the frost expected Friday night. We have a ways to go with the sweet potatoes but what a harvest!

We love this time of year with all the colors and wonderful bounty! It sure is heavy and we are running out of storage space but we are not complaining-this has been a near-perfect season for us and always fun to say “best ever!” Spinach and lettuce are amazing this week from the hoop houses and the hoop houses will chug along hopefully until Christmas as we like to harvest on Christmas Eve for fun…We have the last leeks to pull from the main garden this coming week and the outside gardens will be ready to be put to bed.
