And here we go! We are so excited for this season to begin. A long, dark, cold Spring has held on here delaying outside planting but we kept busy in the hoop houses. Scott added another emergency extension to our heated greenhouse to protect all the little seedling that usually are out in the garden by now. Hoop houses look fantastic and the crops strong. We covered every night during the chill to ensure a blanket of warmth and then uncovered every morning. Hopefully, this duty is behind us until Fall.

We hope to get in the outside gardens next week for a transplanting marathon and look forward to the 1st turnip harvest of the season.
Nothing tastes better to us then the 1st fresh greens of Spring…..we filled your totes with delicious treats!
SPRING SHARE #1

Spinach, pink spinach, baby kale mix, mini pac choi, tokyo bekana, mini head lettuce, and radish medly
Spinach-Sweet juicy thick leaves are always a treat with Spinach grown in the cold. The flavor is amazing. Best salads ever and we love it steamed or creamed.
All spinach is picked by hand 1 leaf at a time… triple rinsed and spun dry.

Pink Spinach-A beauty and only lets us pick a short time before it decides to bolt. The flavor and color both amazing. So pretty in a fresh salad.

Baby Kale Mix-Enjoy raw in a fresh salad, rub with a bit of olive oil and add to a grain or rice cold side salad or try it in a quick saute with olive oil and garlic-a wonderful warm side dish.

mini green pac choi-Raw and fresh adds a nice crunch to a green salad and we love to char them on the grill.

Newham mini head lettuce-A head lettuce variety that only grows well in cooler temperatures.

Tokyo Bekana-A fluffy Chinese cabbage. Love the lime color and adds loft to fresh salads. Can also be sauted.

Radish Medley-3 varieties planted in March. Garden gumdrops.

BEST GUESS FOR NEXT WEEK-HEAD LETTUCES, PAC CHOI, RADISHES, TURNIPS, MICRO GREENS AND MORE…..
It all looks sooooooo delicious š Alice
