A fun “big deal” week in the gardens. We set the goal of getting ALL the potatoes out of the ground and we did it with the help of Scott’s cousin, cousin’s son, uncle and Maeve. A hot Saturday but the crop is out with the help of many hands and we are grateful. 1018 pounds of our late potato harvest is in storage. Phew!

Picking up the fingerling potatoes after the potato digger went through.

Potato harvest done! Maeve and Scott loading up the potatoes from the field.
We waded into the winter squash patch and started that harvest. Acorns, several varieties of carnival and delecata, butternut and at the suggestion of a CSA member pie pumpkins are back! We made a good dent in the harvest and are pleased with the quantity and quality so far….hopefully we finish the job this week and then move on to ornamental pumpkins next.

1st load of winter squash going up to the shed.
And the floral design continues with several beauties going out the door of the “studio”/garage/CSA packing shed this week….I love it.

Finishing up a big floral order for a special event.

And another beauty to mark a special day…(I threw out my favorite shirt after I saw this picture…darn)
